PIXAR UPDATE

The upcoming slate of future of Pixar films has been recently updated!!!

Pixar's 12th film, "Brave" (Directed by Mark Andrews) is coming June 22nd, along with the new short film, "La Luna".

Then, on June 21st 2013 the prequel to Monsters Inc, Monsters University, is slated for release. It is directed by Dan Scanlon.

The bulky title of Pixar's May 30th 2014 film was known a few days ago as "The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs" directed by Bob Peterson and Peter Sohn.

It's now called "The Good Dinosaur". Here's the film's official synopsis...

"What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? This hilarious, heartfelt and original tale is directed by Bob Peterson (co-director/writer, “Up;” writer, “Finding Nemo”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles,” “The Iron Giant”)."

I think that sounds really cool. I can't wait to see that!

Pixar's 15th feature film, "The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside the Mind" (Directed by Pete Doctor) is slated for release on June 19th 2015. Nothing except the fact that this film will explore the mind of a young girl is known yet.

Finally, the newest announcement is about a new untitled Lee Unkrich film (Director of Toy Story 3) about the mexican holiday "Dia de los Muertos". Nothing else has been announced about this project.

WERE YOU AT DISNEYLAND IN 1984?

Okay, I have a question for those of you who may have been at Disneyland in 1984 or 1985. I ask because I'm wondering if anyone ever saw this...

It's "Magic Journeys": A 3-D show that ran originally at Walt Disney World's EPCOT Center beginning in 1982. On June 16th 1984, it was added at Disneyland Park in Tomorrowland's outdoor space stage, and then was added as the first 3-D show in the Magic Eye theater. (Future shows would be Michael Jackson's "Captain EO" and then "Honey I Shrunk the Audience")

Here is the plot synopsis (according to Wikipedia...)

"Magic Journeys looked at the world through the eyes of a child. The film started with children running through a meadow and looking at clouds. Someone blew on a dandelion and the seeds then flew away, turning into stars and then turned into the sun. Next the kids were seen flying a kite at the beach. The kite then turned into a bird, a fish, a school of fish, a flock of birds, bird wings, a Pegasus, a horse and then finally into a merry-go-round. While the children rode the carousel, they began reaching for a brass ring spinning next to the carousel; the carousel spins around the moon and bats fly out past the riders. The moon becomes a witch, a mask, an Olmec head, and more until turning into a cat. A boy reaches out to the cat and it turns into the Sphinx, which turns into a lion jumping through a hoop in the circus. Trapeze artists and acrobats fly through the air and several clowns amuse the children."

The 2 songs in the show "Magic Journeys" and "Makin' Memories" (for the pre-show) were also written by the famous songwriting duo Robert and Richard Sherman.

You can watch the EPCOT version Here (It's the same movie...). Does any of this ring a bell or sound familiar to anyone?

I thought I'd ask because I find this show kind of intriguing (and also kinda creepy...) I also wonder if Disneyland would ever consider re-showing this at some point as a replacement of Captain EO or something.

Let me know if anyone knows anything!!!

"THE CASUAL VACANCY"

J. K. Rowling's new book has been revealed on her newly redesigned website.

It's called "The Casual Vacancy". It's set for release on September 27th. Read the description Here. (Her website also hints at new material for Pottermore in the Harry Potter section of the site that is coming soon!)

What do you think about it? I think it could possibly be controversial. I hope the material is not a politically correct, "political message"-type book. I guess we'll see soon enough...
