DESPAIR :(

Hey! Check this out! My friend Josh showed me this really funny website...

It's called Despair Inc.

It's home to many hilarious DE-Motivational posters such as these...

There are LOTS more on the website. There is also a place where you can create your own. Here's some that I've done...

(Nathan saw what I was doing and wanted to help me make one. He wanted to type "From Nathan", so I let him. I asked him what else he wanted to say and the top line is what he said :)

(I then made this one. BTW, these 2 pics were taken at my Aunt Phoebe's house in Utah on the day we moved up to Idaho!)

(Sarah wanted one too and this is what she said when I asked her what her favorite food was. Since she's the cutest little girl in the world :) I thought I'd save this one for last.)

I had LOADS of fun doing these. Check out the website and make your own Here!

Happy Birthday DCA!

A very Happy 11th Birthday to Disney California Adventure!

That's right! The failure of a second theme park at the Disneyland resort debuted on this day.

In the words of Michael Eisner...

"To all who believe in the power of dreams, welcome. Disney’s California Adventure opens its golden gates to you. Here we pay tribute to the dreamers of the past: the native people, explorers, immigrants, aviators, entrepreneurs, and entertainers who built the Golden State. And we salute a new generation of dreamers who are creating the wonders of tomorrow, from the silver screen to the computer screen, from the fertile farmlands to the far reaches of space. Disney’s California Adventure celebrates the richness and the diversity of California…Its land, its people, its spirit and, above all, the dreams that it continues to inspire.”

Park attendance never really was that great. Here's a map of the park in 2001...

And here is a painting of what the park should look like this summer...

The park is receiving a new entrance area, Buena Vista Street...

...complete with Red Car Trollies and a new "Storytellers" statue that is yet to be revealed.

This summer will also see the debut of Cars Land...

...and a renamed Hollywood Pictures Backlot. I will be renamed "Hollywoodland" after the former name of Hollywood, California.

I can't wait for the changes! Read these articles for more info. Article 1. Article 2.

Probably the thing I will miss most about the old DCA is the CALIFORNIA letters at the entrance.

(Me, Emily and Amy in 2002)

(Me, Emily and Amy in 2010...less than a month before the letters were removed!)

We miss you O!
