Check this out! The first official trailer for the upcoming prequel to the epic "The Lord of the Rings" film franchise "The Hobbit Part 1: An Unexpected Journey" has been released. It follows the adventures of a young Bilbo Baggins with Gandalf, and an entourage of dwarfs. (Sorry, no Gimli to make our days brighter this time...)

I am personally very excited about these movies. I hope they are as good as Lord of the Rings. (Yes, we unfortunately have to see our precious Gollum again... the creep!) They are being directed and produced by Peter Jackson (Director of "Lord of the Rings"). Part 1, An Unexpected Journey is due out December 14th 2012, and Part 2, There and Back Again is due out December 13th 2013.

I am really excited for the Hobbit to come out. Too bad we have to wait a year for it. I didn't know it was going to be in two parts, but I guess that makes it twice as good. I agree with you about Golum (sp), but then Bilbo has to get the ring and we already saw how he got it...so we're stuck I guess.
Hmmmm....I hope the movie is more interesting than the trailer!
Looks good. As long as they don't all sit around singing "kum by ya" the whole time. =] And if An Unexpected Journey is as SLOW going as Fellowship, I will be sad.
